石で歯を磨いて、川の流れで頭を洗う。原始的ゆえ、シンプルな生活。だからだろうか、バスカーの子の笑顔は、街の子とちがって澄んでいた・・・・・・・という話を、年に一度は耳にする。たしかにそんな生活をしていると、茶渋が歯につかなくて、笑顔も光るってものだろう。		 October 1

Basically it means to brush your teeth with a stone and wash your hair in a river. A very primitive and simple life, it is. They say that's why a Basker kid has a more beautiful smile than town kids. I hear that once a year at least. If you live like that, tea won't stain your teeth, and your smile will be brighter.

Well, it might get you respect from kids, but it doesn't work on adults. When I first heard this saying, I used vulgarity around my mom. She washed my mouth out with soup.

Being calm is very nice. But if a calm person has no sharpness, others might take advantage of him. This is the meaning of the saying. But I think maybe just one aspect would be fine, instead of two.

They had this saying removed from the saying book of this year. The parents did such a sinful thing. Casting aside a saying........ This is really uneconomical.

Someone who doesn't know what they're doing, buys a pretty tool, not a good one. So we should not judge on looks alone. But then I see wanderers, who have good tools, look strong......... Or, maybe they look strong, so, they have good weapons. This doesn't fit the saying. Well, I wanted to support people who start with the appearance, but it didn't work.

This is from Basker, where the statue of their Guardian is taken care of. For some reason, people always seem to want to touch it. Some people do it for good luck. Some people do it to make a wish.
