It begins with backing vocal "Help!" without the
introduction, then leads to vocal that they take turns singing.
This backing vocal goes ahead of the main vocal. Especially,
that is used hardly at a part of the verse "I never needed...".
BTW, You may notice that the notes in the verse are almost same
tone C#. However, rhythm the verse is various, so it does not
feel simple but well-rhythmic. Also the chorus is so flat, however
it changes to falsetto suddenly. And it gives us cool sound by
George's fast arpeggio play with three harmonized vocal.

The well-sounded snare drum is impressive. Ringo plays eighth
note with top cymbal instead of hi-hat, so the sound of snare
drum may be emphasized because of unclear beat with top cymbal.
The key is D major, but the chord F is used in the introduction
or middle of song, and gives us particular taste of minor 3rd.
The guitar solo seems to be joined short phrases, and is not
loud but is heavy by its octave unison sound. This guitar solo
seems the early style of twin lead solo, and is the phrase arrangement
to lead to And Your Bird Can Sing later.

It must be influenced by Bob Delan. The acoustic sound with
slow 12/8 time signature is characteristic, and the ending by
flute may be venture. Also only brushes, tambourine, and maracas
are used for rhythm pattern. The song featuring acoustic sound
such this seems to be adopted little by little till the previous
album Beatles For Sale. Also in the latter half of this album,
there are acoustic sound song such I've Just Seen A Face and
Yesterday.

Composed by George. He uses a volume pedal and makes his guitar
sound with slow attack, so it gives us soft impression. That
sound is like the violin, and is characteristic of this song
because there is few song with that sound in their other song.
The drums is not used, but the simple rhythm by the bongo and
cowbell supports George's guitar sound. This playing method like
violin sound is also used in Wait in the next album RUBBER SOUL.

The lead guitar phrase in right channel by Paul is not stable.
The key of this song is A major but he plays blues-like phrases.
So this song is not so simple because Paul's guitar keeps spicy
sound. Moreover, the key changes to C major once at the beginning
of the chorus "Another girl who will...", but changes
to A major again at the end of the chorus.

Also in this song, it takes turns singing vocal from beginning
to end, and has taken root as the Beatles' sounds. This song
changes the key twice (E major -> G major -> E major),
however the second change key is little artificial. After solo,
the vocal "What else can I do..." has half-tone down
line from F to E, and its chord progression is also F->E,
so no idea seems to be in it. Thinking conversely, an ordinary
musician should try something unique chord progression at that
line, but it may be like the Beatles not to do that on purpose.
Ringo plays simple eight beat with his drums constantly, but
the bongo is over-dubbed very loudly.

A repeat play with the guitar rif is characteristic, and the
pattern like this is also used in I Feel Fine or Day Tripper.
You may find out many surprising performances with listening
to rhythm very carefully. First, the toms are played at the 3rd
beat and at the upstroke of the 4th beat in the verse rhythm
pattern. However, in the 3rd and 4th verse after the chorus,
the snare drum is played at the 4th beat instead of toms at the
upstroke of the 3rd beat. Moreover, the tom roll just before
"And she don't care..." is replaced with the snare
drum roll, the snare drum and tom hitting simultaneously, or
snare drum flam. BTW, "She don't care..." or "My
baby don't care..." is bad English ("doesn't"
is correct), but it is particular to lyric.

Composed by Morrison/Russell. Ringo takes main vocal and it
is finished as simple country song as he likes. Only the chords
G, D7, C, A are used, the guitar solo is only repeated four measures
of the introduction with octave down, moreover, the ending phrase
is almost same as that. But the atmosphere of country comes out
by obbligato guitar rif. Ringo plays his drums with basic rhythm
of shuffle constantly, however, the rim sound of snare drum (side
stick) is also over-dubbed, it is the phrase that is never heard
in other song.

To tell the truth, I think it is simple. But its chord progression
is slightly unique, so it is effective to use non-diatonic chord
Bb or augment chord in the verse line Em->Bb->F->G->Gaug.
However, that is the only cool point in this song. Since the
bass line at this phrase has cliche line of formula. Also no
vocal harmony or no guitar solo is in this song, and the drums
is very simple just like Anna.

This is also simple song. However, the chord progression is
so complex from the introduction to the chorus. The key is G
major, and the strange piano phrase in the introduction has jazzy
atmosphere with G->Bb/onG->D7(+9)->G. The cool point
in this song is in the solo play. It takes turns playing the
guitar and the piano. That is, the upward phrase is played by
piano after downward phrase by guitar, and then the downward
phrase is played by piano after upward phrase by guitar. It is
casual method, but it is effective because this song is simple
on the whole.

Again it is simple song. But the triple harmonized vocal at
"Tell me what you see..." is characteristic because
it has G9 chord with A(9th), D(5th), and F(7th). And the electric
piano and the tight drum sound may be the coolest phrase in this
song. BTW, the percussion are used as hidden sound. The tambourine
with basic beat does not only have magical rhythm pattern but
also the claves with 16th note just before every fourth beat
and the guiro at the second beat.

It is the exaggerated introduction though the country song
that the acoustic guitar is featured. But coming into the verse,
the rhythm pattern changes to fast tempo. The chord progression
is so simple however, it is rhythmic because its tempo is fast
and singing fast. At the chorus, the vocal line has high tone
in contrast with the verse in low tone, and it gets into full
swing by dual harmonized vocal. This song may be Paul's favorite
song because he plays this in his band Wings later. But at that
time, he played its introduction only by chord stroke.

This is a well-known standard number. The solo style with
the acoustic guitar appears for the first time. Adding the strings
quartet from the second verse, such a this way may be new trial
for the "Rock Band" the Beatles. It is Paul's solo
so the other members do not perform this song. It is very unique
that the note at the beginning of vocal is "Re". (It
starts with tone G against key of F major). The melody line that
goes up in the verse "All my troubles seemed so..."
or the chorus "Why she had to go..." characterizes
this song. And the length of the verse is seven measure, however
it does not feel strange because it has smooth melody line.

Composed by Williams. It is the last cover song. This song
is typical rock 'N' roll music with blues chord progression.
John's strong vocal is impressive but it seems that he is tired
comparing with Twist And Shout. After the solo, George mistakes
his repeat guitar rif, however how dare they took mistaken one?
BTW, this is the Beatles song that I have played for the first
